Battery Storage - Planning Support 2016

Working with independent energy generation companies to prepare, submit and monitor planning applications for small-scale battery storage developments within both urban and rural environments. This has included co-ordinating and managing specialist environmental consultants to deliver comprehensive planning applications.

Small Scale Gas Generation (STOR) - Planning Support - 2014 - 2016

Clive has worked with a major utility company to secure over 150 planning applications for small scale gas generation (STOR) units across England and Wales. This has included preparing planning applications, Design and Access Statements, co-ordinating environmental reports, post-application monitoring and working with LPAs and consultees to ensure a timely decision process to meet National Grid framework deadlines

Solar (PV) Array - Planning Support - 2015

I have worked with solar developers to prepare planning applications for 5MW solar (PV) Array. This has included managing pre-application works and discussions, preparing planning documentation, co-ordinating and managing the delivery of technical surveys and supporting documentation. These have been successfully delivered in a short time frame in response to changing policy within the UK.

Medium Wind Developer - Discharge of Conditions - 2014

Following securing a planning permission for a single medium wind turbine Clive has worked with the LPA and statutory consultees to discharge planning conditions including design detail, transport, aviation and MoD.

Medium Wind Developer - Planning Appeal Work - 2014

Working on behalf of a client Clive has prepared and managed the written representation appeal process for a single medium scale wind turbine in the South West. He has also prepared both appeal statements and responded to requests for further information from PINS.

Medium Wind Developer - Planning support and guidance - 2013 - 2015

Clive has provided support to a number of medium wind developer focusing on supplying farmers and landowners wind FiT embedded generation schemes. Clive provides planning and feasibility advice as well as project managing specialist sub-consultants to deliver a cohesive planning application. Since becoming an independent planning consultant, Clive has provided planning assistance and on-going planning support for over fifteen projects.

Clive prepared a letter and report template for pre-application consultation to conform with requirements of the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Proceedure and Section 62A Applications)(England)(Amendment) Order 2013. He has

Landowner - Planning application preparation and management - 2013

Clive provided pre-application advice and co-ordinated the delivery of a planning application and enviromental studies for two 50kW wind turbines. The planning application was approved with no objections from consultees or local residents.

During the last five years Clive has provided planning support to approximately 20 similar projects. In addition Clive presented at a number of seminars specifically aimed at providing support to medium scale project developers.

Local Authority - Asset review for renewable energy potential - 2013

Clive undertook a feasibility assessment for a local authority's land assets to identify the most appropriate and viable sites for wind energy development. This study included an assessment of resource and financial issues alongside identifying potential constraints and technical feasibility. This has led to the development of a number of planning applications.

Local Authority - Planning application preparation and management - 2012 - 2014

Clive provided a holistic and comprehensive planning service taking two wind turbine projects from feasibility through to securing planning permission and grid connection for medium scale wind turbines. This included managing the delivery of a full range of environmental studies, stakeholder engagement and project coordination. Both applications have been approved.

Community Cooperative - Planning application preparation and management - 2012 - 2014

Clive provided a holistic and comprehensive planning service taking a community wind turbine project from feasibility through to securing planning permission for three 2.3MW wind turbines. This included managing the delivery of a full range of environmental studies for the EIA, stakeholder engagement and project coordination. In addition Clive has supported the group during public consultation and provided post-application support to the group. The application is currently in planning.
